REMINDER FROM CC

Dear all,

As you head for the final tutorial, I am sure many of you will be eagerly hounding your tutors for exam tips.

I would like to assure that you will not be examined on things that you do not know. Our aim to check on what you know and how much you know! As such, you may want to check your understanding of the TMA. Sure, you have had answered correctly, but how about your elaboration and examples? If a similar question about a different scenario is given, can you still handle it?

As far as exam tips are concerned, I can only repeat what I have already provided.

1. You will be examined on the topics in all the units.

2. Make sure that you answer what the question requires.
3. Provide more evidence, elaboration and examples when there are more marks for certain questions.

Some students have handed in 20 to 40 pages for their TMAs and still have gotten very low marks. Why? It's because of either the 'cut & paste' job, or not answering the question at all!

As you would have read and realised by now, Unit 5 focuses on current issues pertaining to Malaysia's development. When you are examined on these current issues, it doesn't mean that you have to know the exact dates of happenings or its statistics. As students who have mastered the socioeconomic and political background of Malaysia, you should provide your views and reactions towards the issues, campaigns or policies.

I hope these guidelines are helpful. We will be uploading questions for practice next week. By the way, do you know the format of the Malaysian Studies exam paper?
